Angelique S.C. Grant, Ph.D. is currently a senior consultant for the Aspen Leadership Group, which is a national executive search and consulting firm that focuses exclusively on supporting leaders in philanthropy. She provides services that enhance the success of leaders in philanthropy, including executive coaching, strategic thought partnership to those charged with building and leading high performing fundraising teams, evaluation of fundraising programs and organizational structure.

Dr. Grant is the former the Assistant Vice President for Development at Florida International University (FIU) in Miami, Florida where she oversaw the fundraising efforts for eight Colleges and museums raising over $30 million annually with a fundraising portfolio that included: the College of Arts & Sciences, the College of Architecture + the Arts, the Patricia & Phillip Frost Art Museum, The Wolfsonian Museum-FIU, the School of Journalism & Mass Communication, The Jewish Museum of Florida-FIU, the College of Education and The Honors College.

She also served as the Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine’s Assistant Vice President of Development and Assistant Dean of Medical Advancement at FIU, and Executive Director of Development at the University of Miami (UM), Leonard M. Miller School of Medicine. While at UM, she led a team of development professionals and managed the efforts for 24 medical Divisions within the health system – raising over $96 million over her 8-year tenure.

Dr. Grant also worked in higher education at Princeton University (PU) and Washington State University (WSU), and was a communications instructor with the Edward R. Murrow School of Communication at WSU, teaching media and communications courses, as well as an adjunct faculty member at UM.

The Miami, Florida native holds a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Higher Education Administration specializing in Institutional Advancement from Washington State University, where she completed her dissertation titled “Major Gift Donor Stewardship in Higher Education,” of which was later published in CASE’s international research journal. She has a Master of Arts degree in Communication, specializing in Public Relations and Media Management from Washington State University, and a Bachelor of Science degree from Florida A&M University in Journalism.
